Cookery Demonstrations and Cumbria On A Plate Tasting Talks.

Cumbria on a Plate runs cookery demonstrations in Mawbray near Maryport in Cumbria. Courses are run particularly throughout the winter months to bring a little culinary cheer to those long dark winter days and also at other times.  Please see Dates for your diary.

The sessions are designed to be inspirational and informative and to show participants how to create delicious recipes using high quality, locally produced and seasonal ingredients, many of which are grown on the premises.  Annette is happy to show off the vegetables, herbs and fruits in season or store.

Each day starts at 10.15am with a welcome drink. This is followed by the cookery demonstration together with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss cooking experiences.  The session ends with a delicious lunch, further enhanced by the magnificent views over the sea.

The courses cost just £45 per person, which includes welcoming coffee, demonstration, recipe sheets, lunch of the dishes prepared and a glass of wine.

Cumbria On A Plate Tasting Talks.

Cumbria On A Plate, Tasting Cumbria evenings have been held all around the county over the past five years.  They are a fun, community inspired event to reconnect people to the food that they eat.

These events have raised many thousands of pounds for village halls, church roofs, NSPCC, Eden Valley Hospice and Barnardos.  Annette presents these events with Cumbrian Food Producers, explaining about each course, the recipes and ingredients as they are tasted.  There is ample opportunity to buy the produce too.
